TS 12 SP1 finally has introduced a native function to use Taillights without needing a custom script.

As before (for script variants), the coronas have to be defined inside the effects container in the mesh-table.

To make those coronas work as tail-lights, a new container type named "tail-lights" has been introduced.
This container has one child element per tail-light, in each child the matching effect name is referenced and the location of the tail-light is defined.

This function shows the backside-coronas of the last traincar in a train, if the last car is not equipped with taillights, no coronas are displayed.

This container has one child element per tail-light, in each child the matching effect name is referenced and the location of the tail-light is defined.
This function shows the backside-coronas of the last traincar in a train, if the last car is not equipped with taillights, no coronas are displayed.

TS 12 SP1 finally has introduced a native function to use Taillights without needing a custom script.

As before (for script variants), the coronas have to be defined inside the effects container in the mesh-table.

To make those coronas work as tail-lights, a new container type named "tail-lights" has been introduced.

Trainz: A New Era bringt eine Bandbreite an neuen Funktionen mit sich, auf die Trainz-Freunde schon viele Jahre gewartet haben. Diese Seite führt euch in einige dieser Funktionen ein:

Seite in Bearbeitung...

Prozedurale, animierte Weichen
With the new "T:ANE" procedural track, when you create a junction including all the additional elements such as frogs, blades and sleepers in real time just by laying track like you are used to. Older track can also be replaced simply using the "Replace Assets" feature.
Information for Content Creators can be found at: How_To/Build_Procedural_Track_for_T:ANE

Superelevation
To add "tilt" to your track, use the Track Properties dialog and adjust each of the parameters.

Weather & PFX Collision
Smoke will collide with scenery objects and "supported" spline objects such as tunnels and bridges. Rain and snow now collide with the terrain and do not enter tunnels.

Cabin Sway
Adjust track condition and car suspension to increase or decrease the amount of pitch and roll with each car at various speeds.

Future wishlist:
* the train cabin usually has rigid connection to traincar body, so here should be the sway of driver's head relative to cabin...

Bewegung von Zügen
Schienenstöße/-unebenheiten hinzufügen
(i) Load your test route in Surveyor

(ii) Under Track Tab > Trackside Objects find Invisible Track Bump

(iii) Place a few bumps along your track and place a loco and wagons at the head of your track.

(iv) Click on Quickdrive, Save and enter Driver

(v) Start your loco and watch using external camera for visual bumps

Gleiszustand anpassen
(i) Load your test route in Surveyor, and open the Track Tab

(ii) Click on the Properties tool (?) and click on the track. Adjust the default track condition from 50 to 1. Repeat for various track segments.

Note: You may want to place objects or paint the terrain next to where you change the track condition to see where you "should" notice the effect.

Create your own "Bump"assets
(i) Open Content Manager and using the Custom filter, search for Invisible Track Bump (asset will be available on DLS soon)

(ii) R-Click > Duplicate to clone the asset, then select the new asset and R-Click > Edit Config File text

(ii) Rename the line:

username "Invisible Track Bump" to

username "Invisible Track Bump 1"

(iii) Change the line:
track-bump-angles 1,0 to

track-bump-angles 0,1

(iv) Close and save the config file

(v) R-Click > Submit Edits

Note: Close Trainz and re-open (Start Trainz) after creating your bump assets for the changes to take effect.

Try out your new Bump 1 asset
(i) Place your new bump onto the track in Surveyor, run your test drive over the bump in Driver and see what happens differently with your new asset.

Hint: Rock and _ _ _ _

(ii) Create more assets following the same process trying different values other than 0 and 1.

Federung von Schienenfahrzeugen anpassen
(i) Im Content Manager das Fahrzeug anzeigen lassen, dann Rechtsklick > Edit Config file Text

(i) Die folgenden Zeilen zu dem öffnenden Dokument hinzufügen

suspension-stiffness 0.1

suspension-damping 0.1

suspension-pitch-limit 10

suspension-roll-limit 25

Stellwerke
Funktion kommt in Kürze hinzu (not available in day 1 release version)

New Graphics Features
* Schatten in der ganzen Welt
* Per-pixel HDR lighting
* A range of Post-processing effects including:
** Sun effects

Trainz: A New Era bringt eine Bandbreite an neuen Funktionen mit sich, auf die Trainz-Freunde schon viele Jahre gewartet haben. Diese Seite führt euch in einige dieser Funktionen ein:

Seite in Bearbeitung...

Procedural Animated Junctions

Train Motion
Add "bumps" to the track
(i) Load your test route in Surveyor

(ii) Under Track Tab > Trackside Objects find Invisible Track Bump

(iii) Place a few bumps along your track and place a loco and wagons at the head of your track.

(iv) Click on Quickdrive, Save and enter Driver

(v) Start your loco and watch using external camera for visual bumps

Adjust the track condition

(i) Im Content Manager das Fahrzeug anzeichen lassen, dann Rechtsklick > Edit Config file Text

(i) Die folgenden Zeilen zu dem öffnenden Dokument hinzufügen
Defaults to 0.3.<br>
suspension-pitch-limit - maximum pitch angle of the vehicle, in degrees. Defaults to 0.5<br>
suspension-roll-limit - maximum roll angle of the vehicle, in degrees. Defaults to 4<br>
Note: random jolt movement will only occur on below average track (condition scalar >.5). As with other movement it also gets worse at high speed<br>
2. Trainz: A New Era:
The biggest news in the world of Trainz in many years is the announcement of Trainz: A New Era (TANE). Promoted through Kickstarter in late 2013 and now through http://anewera.trainzportal.com, the development of TANE is well underway and scheduled for release in late 2014. With a brand new game engine and a range of new features, TANE will set a new benchmark for train simulators around the world.
3. Trainz Wiki Verbesserungen:
Early in 2014, N3V Games began an update of the Trainz Wiki. This project is ongoing, but that long term goal is to provide the most comprehensive repository of information on the Trainz range of products.

Trainz Versionen
Trainz now operates on PC, Mac, iOS and Android systems. New sections of this wiki are being added continually to update the different versions for different systems. Currently (Feb 2014) the majority of the information relates to Trainz 2009, 2010 and Trainz 12. More information on the history of Trainz versions can be found at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trainz.
The Help Pages for game functionality are accessible from clicking on the "Game Help Main Page" link in the left hand column or by using the (?) button from the game's menu bar. These "Game Help" pages explain the function of each of the user interface components, such as what happens when you click on a particular button in-game, or how to use a particular function.

You can also type your search query in the left hand margin Search box, or in the in-game Search box that opens when you click on the (?) icon.

While functionality may differ in some versions of the game, the concepts are generally similar between versions.
<br clear=all>
Please be aware that the wiki is a source of information, similar to a book. It is not intended as an interactive chat or helpdesk. If you can't find what you are looking for here, general questions should be asked via the Trainz Forums.

Anleitungen
The HowToGuides are a series of documents describing how to achieve various tasks within the Trainz environment. It covers a broad range of topics suitable for beginners using Trainz for the first time through to experienced content creators. Each guide covers a specific topic in detail and explains all the steps required to achieve a task, such as a session.
Dedicated content creation information may be found at the Content Creation pages. These pages are targeted for intermediate-to-advanced users, and explain the theory behind the formation of various types of content. These pages are a valuable resource to stay on top of the evolving content creation requirements as we take Trainz into the next generation of high resolution, high quality content.
Das Trainz Wiki aktualisieren
This wiki is created by both N3VGames (the developers behind Trainz) and by the Trainz Community (requires a Planet Auran login and registered Trainz product to gain edit rights).

It is a continually evolving repository of information. Trainz Content Creators and fans should feel free to add their own pages to this site, however please be sure to keep page names distinct and meaningful. Pages with ambiguous names that are likely to conflict with other uses will be renamed or removed.

Trainz: A New Era introduces a range of new features that Trainz fans have been waiting for for many years. This page introduces you to some of those features:

Page is under construction...

Procedural Animated Junctions

Adjust Rolling Stock Suspension
(i) In Content Manager, locate the loco being used then R-Click > Edit Config file Text

(i) Add the following lines to the file that opens

suspension-stiffness 0.1

suspension-damping 0.1

suspension-pitch-limit 10

suspension-roll-limit 25

These relate to:

suspension-stiffness - The stiffness of the suspension, from 0 to 1 where 0 is floppy and 1 is completely rigid. Defaults to 0.75<br>
suspension-damping - Degree of suspension damping, where 0-1 is underdamped (will oscillate back and forward to gradually settle), 1 is critically damped (will move back to equilibrium as quickly as possible), >1 is overdamped (will move back to equilibrium more slowly).

Interlocking Towers
Feature coming soon (not available in day 1 release version)

New Graphics Features
* Full world shadows
* Per-pixel HDR lighting
* A range of Post-processing effects including:
** Sun effects

These pages are a valuable resource to stay on top of the evolving content creation requirements as we take Trainz into the next generation of high resolution, high quality content.
Updating the Trainz Wiki
This wiki is created by both N3VGames (the developers behind Trainz) and by the Trainz Community (requires a Planet Auran login and registered Trainz product to gain edit rights).

It is a continually evolving repository of information. Trainz Content Creators and fans should feel free to add their own pages to this site, however please be sure to keep page names distinct and meaningful. Pages with ambiguous names that are likely to conflict with other uses will be renamed or removed.
