A loco has just been serviced with some minor repairs to its running gear at the Gladstone Depot Shed. Before it can re-enter service it is required to make a trial run to Laura on the Wilmington Line and back.

Getting Started: Open the session SAR Northern Division Free Roam Session V2 into Trainz Driver. To do this: From the Driver/Surveyor loading screen select the route SAR Northern Division (Narrow Gauge) Route v2 Then select VIEW SESSIONS Then select the session SAR Northern Division Free Roam Session V2 Click DRIVE SESSION If you have already closed the opening message window then pause the session by pressing the  P  key. If you decide to set the session clock to a different starting time then follow the instructions shown in the Orders section Next locate your loco. Either:- Open the Finder Tool (press  Ctrl   F ) and type, in the Name field, the name of your selected loco, for example SAR T 201 (or just T 201 which should be enough), then click the tick icon, OR Open the Driver List (bottom left of the screen) and then scroll through the list to find either:- the loco name (SAR T 201) OR the driver icon (named Driver 201) - this is a non-animated icon then click the drivers Eye icon to take control of the loco. Take a few moments to get your bearings. Click (this link will open in this window) to show the location details and track plans for Gladstone. When you are ready to start, reload the Peterborough Base Session page (click the Scenarios button on your current location page) and select this Scenario again or just use the Back button on your browser - whichever is quicker. Switch back to Driver Mode Close the opening message window if it is on the screen OR if Pause is shown on the screen instead, press the  P  key. Both actions will start the session.

Orders: Select an available loco. You may have to turn the loco so that it runs cab/boiler first to Laura Move the loco out of the  Loco Depot  yard and onto the main line Proceed onto the Wilmington Line to Laura At Laura turn the loco on the  WYE  (or Turning Triangle) Return to the Gladstone  Loco Depot  Turn the loco on the turntable The Base Session has the clock set to start at This can be changed to any required time. For the details see SAR Scenario Session Time Change Driving Notes: A summary of the facilities and product loads at all locations along the line is provided in the link The Wilmington Line is not signalled beyond Gladstone Yard. Train Order working is in operation on the line. Arrangements have been made with the Station Master Gladstone for the test run. You have been issued with orders and the authorisation for the Wilmington Line as far as Laura and return. All facing junctions on the Wilmington Line have a speed limit of 15mph. The approaches to all locations are protected by invisible signals to prevent the AI Half Speed Slowdown Problem when approaching a signal at stop. Trackmarks and industries have been provided for AI Drive To Trackmark, Drive via Trackmark and Drive to  Industry  commands. Click for details. Manual (no AI) driving is possible. As a visual driving aid, a Caution warning sign has been placed at the location of the Main Approach Dn and Main Approach Up trackmarks. Click for details. If driving manually in yards, you are responsible for correctly setting any catch points.
