When a "default" container is contained in the mesh-table for a bridge config file, it is the kuid/kuid2 for the main span mesh of the bridge.  This is the section of the bridge that will be repeated in the Trainz surveyor as you stretch the end points of the bridge spline.

mesh (default)

This tag is only compulsory.
