The line was closed in 1990 and the track has since been removed.
The former right-of-way from Booleroo Centre to Wilmington has been converted into a rail trail, the Southern Flinders Rail Trail, that will eventually run the entire length of the line to Gladstone. The section from Stone Hut to Booleroo Centre is currently under construction.
